Tezpur College, established in the year 1965, is one of the premier Institutions of higher education in the north bank of the Brahmaputra at Tezpur. The College is recognized by the UGC under 2(f) and 12B in 1970 and affiliated to Gauhati University. The College offers BA (Major and General) B.Com (Major and General) and BBA Programme. The College is going to introduce B.M.C. course of Gauhati University w.e.f. 2010-11 session. It was brought under Deficit grants-in-aid system later on provincialised by Govt. of Assam, which receives salary grant from the Govt. Since its inception, the college has been imparting higher education with brilliant performance and extracurricular activities of the students.

It is creditable in our part that the college has been duly assessed and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the year 2004. As per the suggestion and recommendation of the peer team, we have initiated certain measures to ensure its quality by introducing short term employment generating and value addition courses. Besides encouraging the teachers for research activities, we have also provided physical training and augmented the sports facilities of the college. The college is now modernizing the Library and Office through computerization and automation. We have also started the Scouts & Guide and NCC unit.
